AUTUMN ADDITION Maths Games to 6 - Add Numbers 1 2 & 3 & Find the Sum for EYFS

(0)
Make adding numbers up to 6 fun using these easy-prep maths autumn or FALL maths games. Your Early years students will love to add 2 numbers in pairs & small groups and use their mathematics skills to practice addition. This resource is ideal for celebrating the fall colours, but it can be used throughout the year. Most young children love games, and these resources lend themselves well to practicing key maths skills, recognizing numerals and adding 2 numbers 1, 2 and 3 to make the sum 2 to 6. Differentiation is easy. Easy: provide manipulatives for extra support for students who are at the stage where they need to count objects and use the leaves board game and dice or spinners as it is easier to count 3 leaves and 2 leaves together than use numerals. Middle: Use the leaves board game. Harder: use the game board with numerals which is a more abstract concept as students have to visualize what 3 looks like as a quantity. Challenge: use the board with the tally pictures and add the tally on 2 spinners or dice Ask questions such as: How many acorns can you ‘see’ without counting - subitizing? Can you make a sum using the symbols and show me 3 + 2 = ? using your whiteboard – addition skills? Is 3+2 the same as 2+3? The resources are great for lessons, child-initiated play activities, tuff trays, maths centres, role-play areas, extra maths practice, fun homework, homeschooling, substitute teachers, fall or autumn topics - a versatile resource that you can use often. You will get cards with: 3 board games in 2 versions: • * with FALL in the title • * with AUTUMN in the title The resources are in fall or autumn colours. You will also get: spinners and dice patterns for the backs of the cards Prep is easy and quick - print, find a pencil and paper clip for the spinners, 2 (or 3) sets of coloured counters or crayons and you are ready for a fun and engaging lesson. You can also make the dice using the easy-to-follow instructions. Great for you: Low-prep Ideal for your maths** and Autumn-themed centres Great as independent activities in a maths lesson Ideal if you need a quick resource e.g. for supply days Great for extra addition practice These activities are suggested for Early years but may also be suitable for other years. Great for your students: Gives students opportunities to count carefully to 3 and subitize Count together and discuss the final number being the total number Add 2 quantities or numbers together and find the answer Have fun with maths Home Education: Ideal to use it to practice counting to 3 and adding Please check out TES Shop (UK) Copyright © OwletLearning

Are you looking for summer subtraction from 5, 10, 12 & 20 fun games for Key Stage 1? These Roll and Subtract activities will engage your students as they practice their subtraction fact fluency, which is an important mathematical skill. The games will help to memorise and recall maths facts easily and quickly. Taking away, or subtracting will be something they will find fun to do as they race to get the most kites. The games are for students to play in pairs. Use them as part of a subtraction lesson to practice these skills or a stand-alone activity for students who need extra practice with subtraction and prefer to play games rather than do lots of maths sheets. Checking that their friends have got the correct answer means that they have instant feedback if they have the answer right and if they disagree they can work it out together. Provide manipulatives such as counters or Numicon or a 10 frame to support learning or encourage students to use their mental maths strategies to work out and find the answers. Use small whiteboards if necessary to illustrate how they arrived at the answers. Sharing and discussing these with their partners will lead to verbalising what they are doing which will add to their learning experience. Have an adult play with a student in a 1 to 1 scenario to discuss and explain how to subtract and strategies on how to do this so that this becomes clearer – e.g. if subtracting from 5 model using their fingers, if taking away from 10 remind them of number bonds to 10, if subtracting from 12 remind them that they can split the number they are subtracting into 2 and other number so go back 2 to 10 and then subtract the other number etc. Here is what you will get: Subtraction game – taking away from 5 in colour and black & white Subtraction game – taking away from 10 in colour and black & white Subtraction game – taking away from 12 in colour and black & white Subtraction game – taking away from 20 in colour and black & white Dice and spinners to choose from for each game – they are clearly labelled which ones to use for which game Instructions for the games Counters to cut out – in case you prefer to use the games often, students can cover their shapes with their coloured counters - this makes the games faster too Backs for Games to make them look more attractive if you laminate and store them with other games in your maths centre These games are perfect for homework and home education.
